Default retention is zero.
WordMark Remove is designed so the most common workflow—pasting text, inspecting it, cleaning it, reviewing the diff and downloading a report—runs inside your browser. The application does not need to receive that content.
What stays on your device
- Pasted text analysis and Safe/Deep cleaning.
- Character maps, statistical metrics, diffs and quality scores.
- TXT, Markdown, HTML, DOCX, PDF and ZIP processing supported by the browser pipeline.
- Personal presets. Saved document history is stored only after you explicitly choose “Save locally.”
When a server is used
Website scanning must fetch public pages from the server because browsers impose cross-origin restrictions. Optional account sync and optional official verification also use server routes. Those routes return X-WordMark-Retention: 0 for transient content operations and are implemented without content logging.
Optional accounts
Accounts are not required. When enabled by the deployer, cross-device sync is manual and the sync payload is encrypted at rest. The core sanitizer continues to work if no database exists.
Feedback
Feedback submits only the selected satisfaction reason and numerical/result metrics. It does not submit the document text.
Deletion
Anonymous content is not stored by the application. Local browser data can be cleared from your browser storage. A production operator enabling accounts should provide an account-deletion route/process consistent with their jurisdiction.
