AVIF to JPG

Convert AVIF images to JPG for apps and upload forms that do not yet accept AVIF. It is the fallback route for a modern compressed image that needs to work everywhere. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark to your result.

How it works

What happens to your file.

The AVIF is decoded to pixels, transparency is flattened if present, and the image is encoded as JPG with your quality setting.

Where it stops: JPG is lossy and cannot store transparency or HDR-style AVIF metadata. Keep the AVIF master when you need the smallest modern web copy.

Questions

Common questions.

Will AVIF quality be preserved?

The visible image is converted, but JPG re-encoding is lossy.

What happens to transparency?

It is flattened because JPG has no transparency.

Why convert away from AVIF?

Compatibility. AVIF is efficient, but some upload systems and older apps still reject it.
