The tool parses the text as JSON, reports parser errors, and then rewrites valid data with the spacing you choose. Because the output is generated from parsed data, the formatting is consistent rather than just whitespace search-and-replace.
Where it stops: Comments, trailing commas, and unquoted keys are not valid JSON. Use a JavaScript formatter for JavaScript objects that only look like JSON.

Can it fix invalid JSON automatically?
It can show where parsing fails, but it will not guess what a broken value should mean.
Pretty or minified output?
Pretty output is for reading and review. Minified output is for smaller payloads.
Will key order change?
The existing order is preserved unless a selected operation explicitly sorts it.
