How it works

What happens to your file.

Every object is scanned before the CSV is written, so a key that appears late still receives its own column. Nested objects are flattened into dotted column names and values are quoted when CSV rules require it.

Where it stops: A CSV is a flat table, so nested arrays are written as JSON text inside a cell. For typed cells, multiple sheets, and Excel filters, use JSON to Excel instead.

Questions

Common questions.

Does it find columns that are missing from the first object?

Yes. Columns are collected from all rows before the file is written.

What happens to nested JSON?

Nested object fields become dotted columns such as user.email. Nested arrays stay together as JSON text in one cell.

Is the output UTF-8?

Yes. The CSV is written as UTF-8 so international text stays readable.
