QR Code Generator

Generate a QR code as a PNG, or as an SVG that stays sharp at any print size, from a URL, text, contact detail or other short payload. Set the module size, border and foreground/background colours before exporting a code that scanners can read. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark to your result.

How it works

What happens to your file.

Enter the text and choose the look. The encoder picks the smallest code that fits, at the error-correction level you choose (medium by default); a long text that does not fit at that level is encoded at a lower one rather than failing. A line break at the end of what you paste is not encoded, which matters for Wi-Fi codes, and the colours are checked for contrast, so a code too faint to scan is refused with the reason instead of being printed.

Where it stops: Very long payloads create dense codes that are harder to scan, and a code holds at most about 2,900 characters; put longer text on a web page and encode its link. Keep strong contrast and test the code at its intended print or screen size.

Questions

Common questions.

Can I encode a URL?

Yes. Paste the complete URL, including https://, into the text field.

Can I get an SVG for printing?

Yes. Choose SVG as the output format for a vector code that stays sharp on a poster or a business card.

What does error correction do?

It lets a code still scan when part of it is dirty, creased or covered by a logo. Higher levels make the code denser; medium suits most uses, and high is worth it for codes printed on packaging.

Can I change colours?

Yes, choose foreground and background colours, while keeping clear contrast.

Is the QR code dynamic?

No. The payload is encoded directly in the PNG and cannot be edited after printing.
