PDF Summarizer

Get a summary of a long PDF by ranking and pulling out its most informative sentences. This is extractive summarisation running locally — your document is never sent to an external AI service, and no sentence is invented. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark to your result.

When you need this

What people use it for.

Getting the gist of a long report before deciding whether to read it fully
Producing a quick overview of a paper or contract
Summarising confidential documents that must not go to a third-party AI service
How it works

What happens to your file.

The PDF is read paragraph by paragraph, running headers, footers and page numbers are set aside, and each sentence is scored by how central its words are to the document as a whole, with common words such as “the”, “de” or “và” ignored in any of the languages this site is written in. The highest-scoring sentences are returned in their original order, and every one of them is verbatim from your document.

Where it stops: Extractive summarisation selects existing sentences rather than rewriting them, so the result can read as disjointed. It will not paraphrase or draw conclusions the document does not state.

Questions

Common questions.

Is my document sent to ChatGPT or another AI service?

No. Summarisation runs on our own server with no external provider involved, which is the point: confidential documents stay within the service.

Why does the summary read a little choppy?

Because it is built from real sentences lifted from your document rather than newly written prose. The trade-off is that nothing is fabricated.

Can it summarise a scanned PDF?

Only if there is a text layer. Run PDF OCR first to create one, then summarise.
