How it works

What happens to your file.

The pages are copied out of the original into new documents in your browser. Each output keeps the pages exactly as they were, so text, links and images are untouched. The parts are named after the pages they contain and packed into a single ZIP, so one click gets you everything.

Where it stops: A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked first. Splitting copies pages rather than re-rendering them, so a page that is one huge image will still be a large file on its own.

Questions

Common questions.

How do I split a PDF into separate pages?

Choose "Every page on its own", then save. You get a ZIP with one PDF per page.

Can I choose specific ranges?

Yes. Choose named ranges and write them separated by semicolons, for example 1-3; 4-8; 9- for everything from page 9 to the end.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The split happens in your browser, so the document stays on your device.

Why is it a ZIP?

Because a split produces several files. A ZIP keeps them together in one download, and every operating system opens it.

Does splitting change the pages?

No. Pages are copied exactly as they are, including text, links and image quality.
