What happens to your file.
The PDF is parsed with PyMuPDF and the watermark is found automatically: images that repeat across most pages, text drawn in the same position on most pages, and the "Created with WPS Office" note the free plan prints at the foot of each page, together with its hidden link to the WPS website. Ordinary repeated text is only looked for in the middle of the page, so running headers, footers and page numbers are left alone; the export note is recognised by its wording instead. The mark is then deleted and the file saved, leaving the rest of the page untouched.
Where it stops: A watermark burned into a scanned page image is no longer a separate object and cannot be lifted cleanly. Only remove watermarks from documents you own or are authorised to modify.

What stays exactly as it was
- The text under the watermark, still selectable and searchable: only the watermark’s own drawing is deleted.
- Running headers, footers and page numbers; only an export tool’s own note is taken out of the footer.
- Pictures that appear on a single page, and a sentence that merely mentions WPS or another product.

Common questions.
Will the text go blurry?
No. The watermark is deleted as an object, so the text and images beneath it are untouched and stay vector-sharp. Tools that paint over a watermark, or rasterise the page, permanently damage quality — this does not.
Do I have to select the watermark myself?
Usually not. Repeated images and repeated text are detected automatically across the document. If an unusual mark is missed, use Select the watermark on the page and draw a box around it.
Will it delete my header or footer too?
No. Repeated-text detection ignores the top and bottom of the page, because running headers, footers and page numbers repeat exactly like a watermark does. The one exception is a note an export tool prints there, such as "Created with WPS Office", which is recognised by what it says.
How do I remove "Created with WPS Office" from a PDF?
Add the PDF and process it: the note is found at the foot of each page and removed along with its link to the WPS website, and the rest of the page, page numbers included, stays as it was.
