You create the signature once, by drawing it with a mouse or finger, typing it in a handwriting face, or uploading a photograph of a signature on paper. It is then placed as an image on the page wherever you drop it, at whatever size you drag it to, and the same signature can be reused on as many positions and pages as the document needs. Initials and dates work the same way. The pages underneath are left untouched, so the rest of the document is exactly as it arrived.
Where it stops: This is a visible signature drawn onto the page, which is what most forms, landlords and employers ask for. It is not a cryptographic digital signature bound to a certificate, so it does not prove who signed or detect later edits. Where a process specifically requires a qualified or certificate-based signature, this will not satisfy it.
