Does my text get smaller?
No. The page itself grows and your content keeps its original size. That is the difference between adding margins and scaling a page down.
Will the page still print on A4?
The page becomes larger than the original, so set your printer to fit-to-page, or use Change PDF Page Size afterwards to normalise it.
Can I add a margin to only one side?
Yes. Choose which sides get the margin: all four, a single edge such as the left for binding, left and right, or top and bottom.
