Background Changer
Replace an image background with a solid colour, gradient, blur or your own background image. Foreground isolation is performed before compositing, so the subject remains in front instead of being painted over. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark to your result.

What people use it for.
What happens to your file.
The subject mask is generated from the uploaded image, then composited over the background you select: a solid colour, a gradient between two colours you choose, a blur of the original scene in proportion to the photo’s size, or your own picture, fitted to the source and turned upright if it was taken on a phone, HEIC included. A JPEG photo comes back as a JPEG; a transparent PNG is available through the background-removal workflow.
Where it stops: Fine hair, glass and low-contrast edges can be difficult to segment. Review the result before using it for an official document or product listing.
Everything you need, without a paywall.
Common questions.
Can I upload my own background?
Yes. Choose Custom and provide a background image.
Can I choose the gradient colours?
Yes. Choose Gradient and set the top and bottom colours as names or codes such as #1a73e8; the background runs smoothly from one to the other.
Can I blur instead of replace the background?
Yes, the Blur option keeps the original scene while softening it.
Does it change the subject?
It isolates and composites the subject; it does not retouch the subject itself.
