Round Image Corners

Round the corners of an image and export it as a transparent PNG, so it drops cleanly onto any background. Faster than opening a full editor when you just need a rounded avatar, card or thumbnail. It is free, needs no account, and adds no watermark to your result.

When you need this

What people use it for.

Making rounded avatars or profile images for a site or app
Preparing card-style thumbnails for a web layout
Softening screenshots before placing them in a presentation
How it works

What happens to your file.

A rounded-rectangle mask at your chosen radius is applied to the alpha channel and the result is written as PNG so the corners are genuinely transparent rather than filled with a colour.

Where it stops: The output must be PNG or WebP to keep transparency. Saving as JPEG would fill the corners, because JPEG has no alpha channel.

Questions

Common questions.

Why must the output be PNG?

JPEG cannot store transparency, so rounded corners would be filled with a solid colour. PNG and WebP preserve the transparent corners.

How do I make a perfect circle?

Use a square image and set the radius to half the width. For profile pictures, the Profile Picture Maker does this in one step.

Will it work on a photo of any size?

Yes, and the radius is applied relative to the dimensions you give, so it scales sensibly.
