The image is scanned for QR finder patterns, decoded, and the payload is shown as text. If the payload is a URL, you can inspect it before deciding what to do.
Where it stops: Very blurry, cropped, low-contrast, or distorted codes may not decode. A decoded URL is not automatically safe just because it came from a QR code.
